Independent annuity reviews · Flat fee

Know what you own. Know what you pay.

Most annuities are never reviewed again after the day they're sold. We verify every figure with your insurance company, show you the fees in dollars, and tell you in plain English whether your contract still works for you.

Annuities, explained in six short lessons

What most owners are never told.

Five minutes here will change how you read your statement. Each lesson has a small tool so you can see the idea with real numbers.

Lesson 01

Percentages hide dollars

Fees are quoted as percentages, so they feel small.

A 1.25% fee sounds modest. But a percentage doesn't tell you the size of the check. Two people can have the same annuity, the same advisor and the same conversation, and one pays ten times as much as the other.

Investor one
Contract value$100,000
Annual fee rate1.25%
In basis points125 bps
Fee per year$1,250
10×
Investor two
Contract value$1,000,000
Annual fee rate1.25%
In basis points125 bps
Fee per year$12,500

Always translate a fee into dollars per year. It's the only way to judge whether you're getting your money's worth.

What you'll get

Your review priority, in plain English

  • A priority rating from lower to high
  • Up to six specific findings based on your answers
  • A dollar range for what your annuity may cost each year
  • The questions to ask your insurer, whatever you decide

A self-assessment, not your Annuity Health Score. It doesn't evaluate your actual contract.

Why people trust us

An honest second opinion is hard to find. So we built one.

Most annuity reviews are offered by someone who earns more if you buy something new. Our only product is the review itself.

Experience

Built on more than 1,500 contract reviews.

Our founder spent nearly 40 years in financial services, most recently reviewing in-force annuities as a product manager at a major bank.

Client one

Annual income $32,000 → $48,000

Higher income after the review, with fees reduced by 1.5%.

Client two

Paying $118,000 a year in fees

A variable annuity earning under 4% a year after fees. After the review, fees fell by 3.75% and a 5% fixed rate was locked in.

Client results shown are actual cases; individual results vary and are not a guarantee of future results. Fixed annuity guarantees are subject to the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurer.

For professionals

Bring independent reviews to your clients, or your whole book.

The same carrier-verified method, built for advisors who want a credible second opinion and institutions that need a consistent, documented process.

Pricing

One flat fee. Nothing to buy.

You pay for the review, not for a product. The price is the same no matter what we find, including when the right answer is to keep what you have.

  • Included: insurer verification, costs in dollars, the 11-dimension Health Score, a written report and a call to walk through it.
  • Optional: replacement recommendations, only if you want them.
